# Data sources and attributions

JustTCG prices come from our own market data. The card gameplay data in the v2 gameplay block comes from two open-source projects, credited here with the license notices they require.

## Gameplay data

When you request [`include=gameplay`](https://justtcg.com/docs/schema/card#v2-gameplay) on `/v2/cards`, each card carries a `gameplay` block whose `source` field names where its facts came from:

[MTGJSON](https://mtgjson.com) for Magic: The Gathering

Format legality, artist, mana cost and mana value, colors and color identity, power, toughness, loyalty and defense, type line, keywords, layout, finishes, and the same facts per face for multi-face cards.

[TCGdex](https://github.com/tcgdex/cards-database) for Pokémon and Pokémon Japan

Format legality (not served for Pokémon Japan), illustrator, HP, energy types, stage, evolves-from, weakness, resistance, retreat cost, attack cost and damage, regulation mark, rarity, category, and National Pokédex numbers.

The [`print_details`](https://justtcg.com/docs/schema/card#v2-print-details) block on Magic: The Gathering cards (treatment, foil type, serialized) also comes from MTGJSON. Its `style` field (woodblock, character, artist) comes from the collector-number lists Wizards of the Coast publishes for each set.

We serve facts only. The API does not return rules text, flavor text, ability or attack text, rulings, or card images for any game. Those belong to the game publishers.

Crediting these projects does not mean they endorse JustTCG. We copy their data daily and serve it as-is; report an error in a card's gameplay data to us, not to them.

Both projects are released under the MIT License, which asks that its notice travel with copies of the data.

**Passing gameplay data on:** The MIT notices travel with the data. If a copy of gameplay facts you got from us leaves your hands, include the notices above with it. What else you may do with JustTCG data is set out in [Commercial use](https://justtcg.com/docs/commercial-use).
